The B&R backstayless rig, utilised on Hunter’s Child, withstood the rigours of the BOC round-the-world race. This backstayless rig design incorporatres a large mainsail and small genoa for easier and more efficient sail handling. Tacking is easier, providing a more stable and predictable platform. The swept back spreaders create a tri-pod rig support that eliminates the need for a backstay or running backstays, allowing for a much more aerodynamically efficient mainsail design.
